5 Sept 2018: US Expansion Workshop in Scotland

5 September 2018

Join our Managing Director Nora Rothrock and Tax Director Dave Daley for a US Expansion Workshop in Edinburgh, Scotland.

With its large consumer market, world-class talent network, vibrant support infrastructure and large pool of capital, the United States remains one of the most attractive markets for any start-up or scale-up that wants to ‘go global’.

We join SelectUSA (part of the US Commercial Service) in participating with the Scottish North American Business Council (SNABC) at Growing Scotland’s trade in the USA: Doing Business in the US MarketplaceWednesday 5th September 2018 at RSM UK in Edinburgh.  See below for the invitation link to this US Expansion Workshop.

Join US Expansion (trade) experts for a ‘whistle-stop’ tour of Scotland’s top export destination. Discover which States offer the best opportunities for your products and services. Plus, get practical tips and guidance to help you set up, grow and develop your business in the USA.

Scotland’s top export destinationSNABC US Expansion image
The USA continues to be Scotland’s top international trading partner with around 16% of all our exports entering the States, worth £4.6 billion.

The USA’s size alone — four time zones across 50 states and vast cultural differences across regions — means it has to be treated as a series of regional markets, with different characteristics and business practices.

This Scottish North American Business Council event, delivered with partners including Scottish Enterprise, will offer a quick, practical introduction to international trade opportunities in the USA.

Sector opportunities for US Expansion
Significant opportunities exist for Scottish firms across a range of key sectors, including:

  • Life sciences
  • Electronics
  • Financial services
  • Textiles
  • Tourism
  • Food and drink
  • Energy and renewables

On the day you’ll learn more about the support available for companies considering trade with America.

There will be opportunities to meet Council of American States in Europe (CASE) representatives from Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Get your questions answered by an expert panel and hear from Scottish companies already finding success across the Atlantic who’ll share their experiences and top tips.
